Sev Cathy grew up in rural West Virginia in a town near a rock Thomas Jefferson once stood on.
Besides looking at rocks there's nothing else to do in West Virginia, so they learnt how to draw.

They went on to get a BA in Illustration from Columbia College Chicago and Bath Spa University.

Currently, they are based in the South West region of England.
